Samsung has once again secured the ‘Carbon Reduction’ certification for its Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED TVs, marking the fifth consecutive year of recognition for its environmentally conscious efforts. In 2025, approximately 80 models from Samsung’s Neo QLED, OLED, and The Frame TV lineups received both the ‘Product Carbon Footprint’ and ‘Product Carbon Reduction’ certifications from Germany’s TÜV Rheinland, a globally recognized certification body.
These certifications evaluate how effectively a product reduces its environmental impact throughout its entire life cycle, including manufacturing, transportation, usage, and disposal. TUV Rheinland assesses greenhouse gas emissions at every stage, ensuring products meet strict sustainability criteria.
Samsung’s Neo QLED 8K and Neo QLED TVs received the ‘Carbon Reduction’ certification, which is awarded to products that consistently lower emissions year after year. Meanwhile, the ‘Product Carbon Footprint’ certification is given to devices that demonstrate a measurable reduction in emissions compared to previous models.
The company’s journey toward eco-friendly technology began in 2021, when its Neo QLED 4K TVs were first certified. Since then, Samsung has expanded its sustainability efforts, obtaining certifications for a wide range of products, including LED, Crystal UHD, and OLED TVs, as well as monitors and digital signage. This year, the certification has been extended to Samsung’s QLED lineup, further solidifying its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint.
Samsung’s focus on environmental responsibility is evident in its product development and innovation strategies. The brand continues to enhance energy efficiency, sustainable materials, and responsible manufacturing processes, aligning with global environmental goals.
Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, emphasized the company’s dedication to sustainability, stating that the recognition from TUV Rheinland reflects Samsung’s ongoing commitment to creating energy-efficient and environmentally friendly products.
With increasing consumer awareness of climate impact, Samsung’s certified energy-efficient TVs demonstrate how leading tech companies can contribute to a more sustainable future. As the company continues to expand its eco-conscious product lineup, its efforts set a benchmark for the industry in reducing emissions and promoting greener technology.
Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, said:
“Samsung Electronics is continuing its challenge toward carbon neutrality for a sustainable future along with technological innovation. As the No. 1 company leading the global TV market, we will continue to take the lead in building an eco-friendly ecosystem by managing greenhouse gas emissions generated from the manufacturing to disposal of TV products.”
