Newsletter
If you cover a lot of ground reading about Android and want one place that pulls the week’s most useful coverage together, this is what the AndroidBeep newsletter is for. Here’s what it contains, how often it arrives, and what we do with your email address.
What the Newsletter Covers
Each issue is built around the same areas we cover on the site: Android device news, hands-on reviews, software updates, practical buying advice, and deals worth knowing about. The difference is that the newsletter makes judgment calls about what actually mattered that week, rather than asking you to track down everything yourself.
A typical issue includes a brief summary of the most significant Android news from the past seven days, a note on any major software updates that shipped or were announced, a link to the week’s most substantial review or buying guide with a short explanation of why it’s worth reading, and a deals section covering any meaningful price drops on phones, tablets, or accessories that we think are genuinely good value.
We don’t fill issues with news that didn’t matter, deals that aren’t really deals, or opinion pieces dressed up as news. If a week was quiet, the newsletter is shorter. We’d rather send something useful than pad out an issue to look more substantial than it is.
How Often It Arrives and What to Expect
The newsletter goes out once a week, on Fridays. The idea is that it’s there when you have a few minutes at the end of the week to catch up, not interrupting you midweek with something that could wait.
Each issue takes around five minutes to read. There’s no requirement to click anything. The summaries are written to stand on their own, so you can read the newsletter and come away informed without following every link. The links are there when you want more detail, not because the newsletter depends on them to make sense.
We don’t send additional promotional emails outside the weekly schedule. Subscribing to the AndroidBeep newsletter means receiving one email a week. That’s it.
Why the Newsletter Instead of Just Visiting the Site
The site publishes throughout the week. If you’re checking it regularly, you’ll catch things as they go live. The newsletter is for people who aren’t doing that, or who want a single, organized summary instead of piecing together a week’s worth of coverage themselves.
The editorial judgment built into each issue is also different from what you get browsing the site. When we write the newsletter, we’re deciding what was actually significant, not just what was published. A product announcement that generated a lot of press coverage but won’t affect most Android users doesn’t necessarily make the newsletter. A software update that most publications ignored but that meaningfully changes how Android handles background tasks might lead the issue. That kind of filtering takes time, and the newsletter does it for you.
Who Writes It
The newsletter is written by the AndroidBeep editorial team, the same people who write the reviews and reported articles on the site. It isn’t assembled by an algorithm or outsourced to a content aggregator. The person writing the newsletter has usually spent the week testing at least one device, following at least one software update, and reading more Android coverage than most people would want to.
That context shows up in what gets included and how it’s described. When we say a deal is genuinely good value, it’s because someone on the team knows the category well enough to have an opinion worth trusting.
Your Email Address and Your Privacy
What We Collect
Subscribing requires an email address. That’s all. We don’t ask for your name, your location, or any other personal information. We use your email address to send you the newsletter.
What We Never Do
We don’t sell subscriber email addresses to third parties. We don’t share them with advertisers. We don’t use them to send marketing emails on behalf of brands that work with AndroidBeep commercially. The address you give us is used for one purpose: sending you the AndroidBeep newsletter, once a week.
Managing Your Subscription
Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click removes you from the list immediately, with no confirmation emails, no “are you sure” screens, and no follow-up asking why you left. If you want to update your email address, use the unsubscribe link on any previous issue and re-subscribe with the new address.
We don’t make it difficult to leave. A newsletter that people stay on because they want to is more useful to everyone than one that makes unsubscribing a project.
The newsletter is free. If the weekly summary of Android news, reviews, and deals sounds like something you’d actually read, the signup form is below. We’ll see you on Friday.
